SENIOR DIRECTOR, MARKETING INSIGHTS & INNOVATION

Our client, a leader in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) with multiple categories of products is looking for a skilled and strategic marketing achiever to lead the strategic development of our long-term innovation pipeline and our commitment to service and quality.

Reporting to the Executive VP Marketing, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated leader who’s able to set and attain performance goals and isn’t afraid of a fast-paced, high responsibility hands-on environment. He will lead a team to advance insights & innovation market leadership for the company. This role requires a collaborative approach, working cross-functionally with Sales, Innovation, R&D, Finance and Operations. The candidate will be a thought leader at the forefront of advances and innovation in capability for their industry; Identifying, aligning, and embedding and these capabilities into the company way.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for identifying white space, leveraging consumer insights to develop concepts, assessing feasibility, validating market viability and creating business propositions and coordinating commercialization;

Establish and lead a strong innovation process culture and disciplined cadence in innovation, key supporting R&D work processes, cross-functional project team meetings;

Identify and articulate key business issues and gaps uncovering opportunities in marketing objectives and strategies;

In-depth knowledge of consumer trends and implications as well as a comprehensive of techniques (Qualitative, Quantitative, Choice Models, Behavioral Science, etc.) and world-class methodologies for marketing research and insights practices;

Oversee innovation pipeline development & validation;

Work effectively across business functions (R&D, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance) to deliver innovation to the market.

Qualifications :

University degree with a graduate degree in business/ marketing or equivalent executive-level work experience. MBA will be an asset;

Minimum 10-15 years of experience in all aspects of marketing, market research and insights;

Minimum 8 years of experience in senior leader role;

Proven experience leading breakthrough new product development from concept through to launch;

Proven track record of effectively owning & winning complex initiatives and leading cross-functional teams;

Agility and ability to prioritize and maintain focus in complex and fast environments;

The successful candidate is recognized for his/her ability to easily and effectively alternate from strategic thinking to hands-on activities;

Team player, innovative, results-oriented and customer focus, business sense;

Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills. Architect of social media as a powerful marketing tool;

Bilingual (English/French) writing and speaking; Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
